The Freedom Pet Pass is ideal for dog owners who wish to give their dog the freedom to safely come and go as they please without compromising home comfort.
When you use your heat or air conditioning system, the house becomes pressurized. Access Magnetics has tested the Freedom Pet Pass door in a pressurized environment (same method used for testing windows and doors), and the tests showed "no detectable air leakage." The flap is constructed with marine grade canvas that is bonded to both sides of a synthetically blended closed cell rubber core. The flap is not see through, it is completely opaque. The bottom of the flap has a polycarbonate protector which will deter pets from chewing on the flap. The flap also has a full length magnet down each side and across the bottom as well. It's strong magnets make it very resistant to wind. The manufacturer has a short video of this door in action being tested and standing up to a leaf blower! The locking cover attaches right to the front of the door so you don't need clearance above the pet door to slide the cover into a track. This feature is especially convenient if installing the pet door under a window or cabinet. If having a clear flap is a must, consider the Hale Pet Door or the Dogwalk as an alternative. The white frame fits standard 1 3/4" thick doors.
Unlike our other wall mounted pet doors, this one DOES NOT FRAME THE WALL! That means that you will only receive the frame pictured with the flap and the locking cover. The lower cost of this pet door should offset the cost of installation and materials, and this allows for more options to finish off the pet door but requires more work than a self-framing unit. The installation is exactly the same as installing a vinyl window in a wall, so any contractor who can install windows already knows how to install this pet door.
