Pet 1 Products brings to market a new and feature packed pet door for sliding glass doors.
This door fits aluminum framed doors and has a much wider adjustment range than most of it's competitors. The height adjusts via a gas shock mechanism which extends the top of the pet door into the top track for the slider. This gas shock puts positive pressure on the top track at all times, holding the door in place and preventing rattles.
The door has dual pane tempered glass for thermal efficiency and has a double thick flap as well. The flap seals to the sides of the frame via fuzzy weather strips and has magnets on bottom to hold it shut. The flap is soft, but it swings open on a hinge at the top. This hinged flap makes a big difference in longevity of the flaps, because the flap doesn't have to flex back and forth at the top to open. This door also has the unique feature of being able to use any of the three flap sizes in the same frame, and the flap assemblies are sold separately. This makes it easy to adjust to any size pet. In addition to being able to change out the flaps, you can also move them up and down in the frame, changing the rise dimension. This is particularly useful when there are different sized pets in the same house. The pet door can be adjusted so that it is low enough to the ground for the smallest pet, and then a tall enough pet flap can be used to accomodate the largest pet in the household.
