Patio
Pacific has been manufacturing quality pet doors for the
last 35 years. The small and small medium sizes use rigid Lexan flaps
that have pile weather strip insulation and centrally located magnets
at the bottom. The Medium and larger sizes use a vinyl flap which is
now a brown tinted color. The picture to the right shows the Thermo
Sash as an example of a Patio Pacific pet door.
Important note: Electronic doors take special flaps. Sizes are the same, but a regular flap will not work in an electronic door!
We don't ever expect to sell a replacement Endura flap for a door because it has worn out through regular use. Nevertheless, we do have them for sale and if your dog has chewed up your flap or otherwise damaged it it can be replaced.
The Endura flaps should be easy to distinguish. As can be seen in the photos on the right, the Endura flaps are hung on a steel hinge pin which goes all the way across the top of the flap. The older style standard flaps are simple vinyl flaps that have no hinge at the top and just flex to open.
Unfortunately the Endura flap cannot be installed into an older Thermo Panel II or Quick Panel II. If you would like to upgrade to the newer flap design it will be necessary to purchase a whole new pet door.
We also have keys for the electronic doors, and they are available in cat or small dog sizes. Either size key will operate an Electronic Thermo Sash or Thermo Panel or Quick Panel, but the larger key is slightly heavier and will open the door from just a little further away.
