The Plexidor pet door is already one of the most durable pet doors on the market. The manufacturer has improved that very tough design for use in kennel applications, and the result is the Bite-Guard KennelPlex door. This door has a metal rim around the edge of the flap to make it difficult to chew.
The large size has been changed to a hanging flap design. It uses one single flap hung from the top rather than two flaps which meet in the center. This modification to the design alleviates the need for springs, and gravity closes the door instead. Like the normal Plexidor the large size has a dual pane Lexan flap and the extra large has a single pane Lexan flap. The flaps are sealed to the frames with fuzzy weatherstripping.
The Bite-Guard KennelPlex door is normally sold without the outside trim frame, but can be purchased with the trim frame as well if you are installing the unit into a home. In addition it is offered in a wall kit that comes with the pet door, a sloped tunnel, and the outside frame.
