The Plexidor offers a unique and attractive pet door.
Their solution is to use 2 dual pane Lexan flaps which swing open from
the center like a saloon door (extra large uses two single pane flaps,
small uses a single dual pane flap). These rigid flaps are easier to
seal than flexible vinyl. This door uses pile weather-stripping around
the flap to seal it to the frame. The doors are spring loaded to return
to the closed position.
With the advantages of a nearly unbreakable
flap and good insulation, the Plexidor is a good choice for severe
climates. This door comes with two different locking mechanisms.
The door flaps can be locked in the closed position with a key, and
the door also comes with a bolt on security cover. Where most pet doors
require periodic flap replacement, the Plexidor usually only requires
a spring replacement every 3-5 years, making it less costly to maintain. Now
available in silver (clear anodized), white (baked enamel), and bronze (anodized) frame
colors.
